Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Salinas!

Whether you are a seeker who is taking your first steps to finding answers about God and life after death, or a committed Christian who wants meaty teaching and to grow more mature spiritually, you can find a spiritual home at FPC.

We are a purpose-driven fellowship of Christians whose purpose is to change the world through Jesus.  The Bible gives a momentous promise:

"When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside.  He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun"  2 Cor. 5:17

This is the hope for every marriage, every family, every parent, every person who realizes that for the world to change, we need to change.  Jesus was crystal-clear about His purpose in coming from heaven to earth:

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost".   Luke 19:10

At FPC, we have seen Jesus do that again and again in lives. There is always hope when Jesus is involved!  And therefore our top priorities are evangelism and spiritual growth.

We are striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible -- a place where the focus is a growing personal relationship with Jesus; where there is practical Biblical teaching that applies to life; where there is dynamic and uplifting worship; and where there are practical programs for the needs of every age, for both singles and married. We are a large, growing church, and the benefit of that to you is that we are big enough for seekers to be inconspicuous among us and big enough to provide a vast array of specialized ministries for people, from children and youth to young marrieds and singles, empty nesters and the retired. Look inside this web site and I think you will find lots of programs that will help you grow spiritually and live more triumphantly! And despite being a large church, I think you will find such a friendly, united people, with so many different ministries and groups, that you will quickly make friends and feel part of the ''family". I hope so!

I invite you to be my guest at one of our worship services. You have a choice. Our 9:00 & 10:45 AM service is strictly contemporary in music and uses various visual mediums. The 10:45 traditional is much more traditional with choir, organ, hymns and some use of praise music. Both are contagious with the Spirit of Jesus and have the same Biblical and practical message.
